Mother's Day Card

Happy Thursday! I love when the weekend is just around the corner. Even though I was home for two days this week, they don't count because I had tissues stuffed up my nose the whole time ;)

I know that originally I posted a lot of glass work on this blog. Please know there are more posts to come about glass. My hubby is currently working on a new glass studio for me so I am unable to work on any new glass. But fear not, I am always doing something creative! So, stay tuned, more glass will come!!!

For now, I wanted to show some fun cards that I work on everyday. This is a Mother's Day card that I designed for Design Design Inc. This is probably one of my favorite cards that I have done. It has a beautiful c-thru hologram foil to enhance the design.

Germs Germs Germs

Hello everyone. I have been so behind with posting on here due to work travel and being sick. 2013 started with me being sick for about 2 weeks and now I have caught another cold. So, I have been sitting on the couch watching horrible TV movies and snuggling with my Baby Payton.

I thought I should post something today, and decided to do a series of posts of greeting cards that I have done at Design Design Inc. All cards can be purchased at www.gallery19.us so please go check it out and buy some awesome cards!

I feel very luck to have the opportunity to design cards and actually have them produced. On a daily basis I get to design and work in a creative environment, but I also get to play with gems, foils and glitters. If you know me at all, you know that if I could, my house would be completely decorated in glitter. I LOVE anything that sparkles, so as my Dad says, this is a perfect job for me.

This is a handmade card that I designed and was so well received that it became a Valentine's day card and an Anniversary card! It has A LOT of gems plus some foils to finish it off. I handpicked all the gems that I wanted including the color, size and shape. Did I mention I love sparkly things?? ;)

Wedding Invitations

This past summer my Brother-in-Law got married, and as a wedding gift I designed all the stationery needs. The colors that the bride chose were a nautical blue and an accent of deep pink. Her flowers were peony, which are absolutely beautiful.

Finally home!

I am finally home from Atlanta! I missed my hubby and baby girl so bad and it was so good to see them last night.
This trip was a wonderful learning experience for me. My body hurts so bad from setting our showroom up, but it was worth it because it looks beautiful!
Now that I am back, I will be posting throughout the week :)

Beaded Jewelry Continued

Welcome back! Yesterday I posted about the blue necklace and bracelet set I made. Today, I wanted to show you the necklace I wore to my brother-in-law's wedding.

I found this beautiful black dress for his wedding and I needed some statement jewelry to go with it. To begin, I fused some glass pieces with different colors of glass.
I wasn't sure how the glass was going to come out, so I did some blue, pink and orange stripe, and purple. After looking at them for a day, I decided I wanted to use the pink and orange stripes on black. Then I went into my beading supplies and picked out some beautiful seed beads and crystals to match.
Then I started stitching the glass pieces and attaching them.
Then I had to decide how I wanted to stitch the chain. Sometime simple but elegant seemed appropriate.

Here is the final piece!

Beaded Jewelry

I wanted to show some of the detailed beaded necklaces that I do. I use the fused glass and then bead around it to create a unique piece of jewelry.

My brother-in-law got married this past summer and I found two perfect dresses (one for the rehearsal dinner and one for the wedding) but then I couldn't find any jewelry to match. So, I decided I should make some instead.

My sister-in-law's colors were a nautical blue and a bright pink and I wanted to stay with those colors. For the rehearsal dinner I had a pretty navy blue dress from The Loft and this is the necklace and bracelet I made to match:

The necklace has one fused glass piece in the center with seed beads and deep blue crystals around it. The chain is made of the same seed beads in a special stitch that makes the chain twist around.
The bracelet has three small fused glass pieces with the same seed beads and crystals as the necklace. The clasp is a simple silver one.

Check back tomorrow for the pictures of the necklace I wore to the wedding. :)
