NYC

I was very lucky last weekend to go to NYC for work. We participated in the New York Stationery Show and I went to help set up the booth. In my "spare time" (haha) I got to see some areas of NYC that I have only seen on TV.

Studio

We bought our house five years ago yesterday and I picked out which room I wanted to make my studio. Finally, I have finished it and it is a functioning art studio!

Here is the before photo, but to be honest, this is when I had already started cleaning out the closet and shelving units.

The walls were a yellow color which was absolutely horrible! I painted the walls and trim white to keep it really clean looking.  Of course I had my little helper with me the whole time.

After I finished painting, I bought a hollow closet door and put white formica board on the top to use as a desk top. My parents gave me an old gray two drawer file cabinet that I spray painted white and used that as the base for the desk on one side. To keep the desk top up on the other side I used L brackets on the wall.

Finally I did some decorating and now I have a full on studio!

It's been too long!

Hello everyone! I know it has been a long time since I have posted on here, however I am back and ready to post! It seems like the year 2013 has flown by and I can't believe we are coming to the end of May!

Since my last post, I have created some new designs, traveled, completed my design studio and my glass studio. So, I suppose I should start at the beginning.

I have been working with stained glass since I was 15 and I LOVE it! However, to have all the tools and supplies you need quite a bit of room. When I was in Europe, my husband built me another bench and we took a whole weekend to clean and organize (one of my favorite things to do). Now all my saws, grinder, drill press and kiln are up and running, my glass is organized in rainbow order, my glass scraps are put away in drawers and I finally have a surface to create.

Enjoy some pictures of the space and hopefully soon I will get some new glass pictures on here. Seriously, there are not enough hours in a day to accomplish all the "To Do's" on my list.
